Alien 933k (Aurora)
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
The Screenshot is distorted because my screen is too big (1440x900) so the PNG is very very compressed.
The icon theme is Titanium (codename: Beyond) a personal theme which I am developing in my spare time.
My new font is artwiz Snap, artwiz fonts are available this days for most distributions, you can see all the related info here: http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/docbook/en/html/app-artwiz.html
My "Window Manager" is Xmonad and I have written the metering bars from my own so I don't have anything to do with Beryl or Metacity. This is a GTK2 theme
If you want a theme for those WMs there's a plethora which would be great for matching this one, select the one working better for you.
A lot of thanks to all the positive voters, your support keeps me releasing themes!
If you do experiment annoyances with your browser here's the solution: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504
A major tailored next release is behind the door Wait just a few time if you want it for everyday use. Last changelog:

* A single line was changed to please people who like "menu icons".
If you want the default behavior, adjust your settings from Gnome or remove the (#) symbol at the very last line in the file:
"home/you/.themes/alien933k/gtkrc-2.0/gtkrc"

this is actually a bit like in those sci-fi movies, when whoever does whatever on the shiny computers... great..
Can we have a early package for your icons? Is a methacity theme in your mind? Cygoku
Not yet because I want them to be the most professional I can. Indeed they are better now than it's seen at the preview ;) I have many affairs in my life right now, working, developing other projects and so forth. Though, the pre-release should be in one month and a half approximately. Metacity... I really dunno. But I'll try it some day. Regards.
Thanks for the answer, I will impatiently wait for icons before I can start using it. Thanks a lot. Cygoku
Thanks to you, there will be a lot of changes but certainly I hope you enjoy them
Also, What's the icon set? Can you paste a screenshot of your FONTS tab properties? Cygoku
I do use the file gtkrc-2.0 for managing the settings you are asking for. style "alien-font" { font_name = "Snap 9" } widget_class "*" style "alien-font" You should be interested at "Snap 9"? but obviously you should install artwiz fonts first. The icons are Titanium (codename: Beyond), a personal iconset that I am currently developing in my spare time. I hope this answers all your questions.
Where is methacity in all that? :( Cygoku
You can chose your Metacity theme at will. I don't use Metacity WM but Xmonad so there's no metacity.
2 more "bugs". When you type into a text field in Firefox, it's black text on a black field and you can't read it at all. And also, when talking on gaim, the persons color is almost identical to the color their name should change then they are typing.
Please give me a look about that. Pidgin works fine for me "at both computers". Indeed the text should appear almost white over a dark-blueish-green. Perhaps I'll publish my screenshot later. As for Firefox, look at the solution over here. If nothing helps you, please post versions and those nice screenshots that you are used to post, also some web pages for referencing the issue here. Thanks for your concern.
cuuuuute^^ cool shots and theme!!! whichsoever panel do you use on second shot? thanx ^^
Thanks! Enjoy it ;) http://fbpanel.sourceforge.net/
I've noticed a small bug when you hover over the navigation buttons in Firefox it put a blue box behind it that doesn't look very smooth: http://jesse.homedns.org:443/~jesse/theme.png
I really appreciate your feedback here, and pointing a screenshot about that. Yep! I already have noticed that "bug". It is the price you pay for using Firefox. It is not GTK-2.x compliant and I can't do anything to solve that inconvenience. Unless I make bad changes over all the other GTK compliant applications, loosing the general effect. I made my best to solve the common font issues over dark backgrounds. And really, I've found that thing curiously beauty when I saw it at the first time. We can't blame Firefox it is a "great" browser. Though, I stay with Epiphany.
Nice theme. What font on your second screenshot? Thanks
HandelGot (it's the default at some Mac series) I really don't know whether it is freely available or not. So I can't publish the info here, I've took that screenshot into another computer. Thanks for your comments.
for example this http://foro.powers.cl/viewtopic.php?t=235572&highlight= if you look the letters, they are not black, but if i set that colour, then in nautilus i'll see nothing... other example is this page http://www.latercera.cl/lt3/portada/0,4427,3255_5658,00.html the background is the same than in naitilus... i would resolve this problems changing the colours, but then i'd lose your great work mixing the tones... i use firefox 2.0.0.6 in ubuntu feisty, and is the package installed from the repositories thanks for your interest
Issue your browser search window and look for "monkeys" at this very page. You'll find faster the correction! Note: That should work for every other dark themes from now on. That's the most simple "hack" ever ;) Cheers!
No problem... you are right! There is an annoyance there. I'll solve that very soon. Meanwhile, go to your browser's preferences and check let the web pages specify their own colors or something alike. I have Firefox 2.0.0.7 but there are not enough differences between both of them. For me, (with "own colors" enabled) The first page looks fine, while the second made clear your point. It is ugly as used to be with other dark themes... Whatever, stick around as I point the solution at the main description or the changelog of this theme. Please, post again if you get your browser working then.
i resolved my issue by modifyng directly the colors on the preference-themes-colors dialog, but in firefox some pages are displays with the background so dark, with the same colour that my nautilus background, those pages are specially newspapers, so my question is, what can i do to resolve that? i don't want to leave my nautilus background white, it doesn't combine with the colours theme thanks
Please submit one of those pages troubling you and the version of your browser(s), then I'll know what's supposed to do.
Man, if you are used to "Gnome" and "gnome-theme-manager" you can't do use of gtkrc for switching themes. That's for advanced users... The gtkrc file overlaps gnome-theme-manager. So you are just getting a worse error! However, remove .gtkrc-2.0 if you are using Gnome, the theme should work by default if you dragged it to the gnome-theme-manager. Nobody had the same problem. By the way, in gtkrc it's: include "/home/you/..." not just "/home/you/..." Good Luck and please, don't blame the theme if you don't know how to install them. Please consult forums for further advices.
i can't make it work i had to create the file .gtkrc-2.0 and put the lines "/home/juan/.themes/alien933k/gtk-2.0/gtkrc" but chamging the aurora's themes don't change the look of the desktop what am i doing wrong? i use ubuntu feisty
hey Great theme i have ever seen on green shade hey whats the theme for Window Border in your second screenshot
