Description:
This is a pleasant and functional color scheme, if you're using one of the Liquid styles. I use style Baghira, which is the successor to Mosfet's (great) Liquid. Highly configurable through kcontrol.

The icon set is Sparkling. The Panel wallpaper is attached hereto as screenshot2. The desktop background (visible through transparent Konsole) is triplegears. Ethereal (gtk2) is themed by virtue of gtk-liquid.

For window decorations I use BII, which is handy and useful.

I suggest also setting cursor themes to redglass for root, and Golden for users. In an OS that's actually functional (like Gentoo, but not Mandrake or Suse), the cursor changes color according to whether the window is root or not.

Apparently some don't like my editorial comment about Mandrake & Suse. Fair enough. But I'd used these distros for 5 and 2 years respectively, and maybe I'm just a demanding user, but the fact is I spent 30% of my time simply troubleshooting these two. More busted, than not. I'm just saying my truth peoples.

It's my truth as well, quantumstate. I've used Red Hat 9, Fedora Core and SuSE 9.1, before finally settling on Debian GNU/Linux. While Red Hat, Fedora and SuSE were very stable indeed compared to Windoze, they were still a bit flaky. They typically include 'bleeding edge' packages and their dependency handling is sometimes dubious, frequently leading to a broken desktop. This is why I kept migrating from distro to distro, until I found Debian. Its rigorous approach to stability together with the joys of apt-get, mean that it *never* breaks in the way that Mandrake, Red Hat or SuSE do, and it's far more flexible in its functionality. I've heard similar things about Gentoo, though having to compile everything from source scared me off. ;-)

Someone please help me - I see the name all over the place but for the life of me - can't figure out what it is! Even looked up the sourceforge project and googled it and found nothing that helped. Is it a colorscheme, win dec., theme, karamba clone????? I have no idea!!

Baghira is a complete style for KDE. It changes the whole look to an aqua (liquid) look, like Apple used to be. Any KDE app will likewise be skinned automatically. No muss, no fuss. But beware of some versions; in Gentoo, the only one that works so far is the 0.3p ebuild. (Check bugs.gentoo.org) I'd attach it, if this board'd let me.

Beg to differ, I run the latest baghira 4c on my gentoo laptop and it works very well... FB

I'll try it, thanks.
