Click here to get it for Plasma 6
This can be installed directly from Plasma Widget explorer or by clicking the install button in this page. However, for this to work correctly, the libraries must be installed by running the below command:
cd && sudo ./.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.windowbuttons/lib-install.sh
To uninstall the libraries run:
sudo rm -rf /usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/appletdecoration/
NOTE: The libraries were built and will be continued to be built in Arch Linux running the latest available version of KDE Plasma. This may or may not work in other linux distribution or older Plasma versions. I do not intend to provide support if it does not work for you. In such a case you should consider building it yourself from here

1 This didn't work for me. I'm sure there's a comment below as to why; Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.114.0 Qt Version: 5.15.12 Kernel Version: 6.7.2-arch1-2 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 It did occupy space on my bar but never actually showed up in any way. After having checked the last release date and the compilation date of your contribution, this is newer, so I'm a little confused. Either way wouldn't recommend using this. Instead this one can be used; https://phabricator.kde.org/source/plasma-active-window-control/ - ironically it hasn't been updated since 2020 and is older. If you're running ArchLinux it can be used from the extra repository as plasma5-applets-active-window-control.
I think for now the shell script needs a component to check the distribution and plasma version -- 5.27 needs libkdecorations2private.so.10 whereas 5.26 seems to need libkdecorations2private.so.9. If what I'm reading on the github issue is right, symlinking the needed libraries is probably more efficient than copying them -- I think covering the case of Ubuntu LTS, current Ubuntu normal release, and Fedora should be enough. To be honest, I'm not sure what should be done, considering how much of a mess upstream and KDE version differences are rn, but IMHO that would be the best option for now.
Not working for me either, since the recent update to Ubuntu. I'm getting a 'Sorry! there was an error loading Window Buttons" message if I click where the applet is trying to show. The rest of the message says: file:///home/david/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.windowbuttons/contents/ui/main.qml:26:1: plugin cannot be loaded for module "org.kde.appletdecoration": Cannot load library /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/qml/org/kde/appletdecoration/libappletdecorationplugin.so: (libkdecorations2private.so.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
Hey! As for the post describing this prebuilt as meaningless, spam, or whatever: Some people might benefit from it. Like me. I just created an Account just to say thanks and justify the existence of this thing. The official install kinda sucked. I needed to gather a WHOLE bunch of packets to make this thing compile. And even after I finally managed to get the stupid script to run - plasma still wouldn't show this stupid widget. There is also an repository to install this widget, in theory at least. The Ubuntu built hasn't been maintained tough and therefore wouldn't work either in my scenario. I downloaded this file. I ran the command to install the libaries. And it actually worked. It just did what it was supposed to, I can't believe it. As I'm not willing to dig around more then an hour for a damn widget to work, I wouldn't have this widget without your prebuilt. And I kinda like it. Therefore: Thank you, thanks a lot!

misses the library so this is SPAM
Nevermind, the libraries and instructions on how to install them has been added
Is there a way to distribute this in prebuilt form so that it can be used as a dependency for a global theme?
no it can not, so this is why your release is totally meaningless.
But "meaningless" is not the same as "spam". "spam" implies that the person that uploaded it willingly wanted to trick people, which is not the case here.
